QB25 Community Event: Volunteer!

Paying it forward: College advising and essay guidance for QuestBridge College Prep Scholars

Join us for a pre-QB25 session where you will volunteer to advise QuestBridge College Prep Scholars, rising high school seniors who are about to apply to the National College Match. You’ll have a chance to share your college experience and assist students with their college essay. A rewarding opportunity to “pay it forward” to students who are exploring their college options and preparing for the year ahead.

Please note: We expect this to be a small, interactive session of around 60 people or less.

Session time: Friday, July 26 at 1:00 – 3:30 pm at the SF Marriott Marquis. (Please note: QB25 officially starts at 5:00 pm on July 26.)

Volunteer expectations:

  • Please arrive no later than 1:00 pm for a brief orientation on the session. College Prep Scholars (and their families) are also expected to arrive between 1:00-1:30 pm.
  • You will share your college experiences in informal discussions with students and possibly parents.
  • You will work with a small group of students to give feedback on their college essays, roundtable style.

Please complete this brief interest form by June 6. You must be a registered attendee of QB25 to participate. We have a maximum of 15 volunteers for this session, and we will notify you in June if you are selected for a slot.

Share Your Story – Call for Storytelling

We believe stories have the power to inspire, motivate, and build connection and community. We are excited to feature oral storytelling at QB25 to celebrate the collective voices of QuestBridge Scholars and Alumni, and invite you to share your story in a powerful way.

  • We reserve the right to propose changes to approved stories.
  • The deadline to apply is May 31. Applicants will be notified by June 14.

We encourage you to reflect on QB25’s themes and how they connect to your life. The following are some questions to consider:

  • What have been the pivots in your life so far and how have they changed the course of your life?
  • What relationships have been most influential in your life and what have you learned from them?
  • What are some of the happiest moments of your life? The saddest? If you could hold on to one memory from your life forever, what would that be?
  • How has your life been different than what you’d imagined? What hopes do you hold for the future?
  • How have you seized upon various opportunities in your life, and how have they defined your path?

Submit your application now! The application will ask for an outline of the story you would share, as well as a short description (100 word limit) of why you would like to tell your story at QB25.

Become a QB25 Volunteer

We are building a team of QuestBridge Scholar and Alumni volunteers who are excited to help create incredible memories at QB25. Volunteers will be the face of the conference, and we are looking for people who are passionate, enthusiastic, hard-working, and customer-oriented to be assigned to various roles and responsibilities.

This application is now closed.

I’m excited to attend because this will be the first conference where my identity as a formerly low income student is centered and affirmed.
