
Arianna Trickey grew up in the foothills of Northern California. She was a member of the first cohort of QuestBridge Scholars at the University of Virginia where she co-founded the school’s chapter serving as the first Liaison and President. She holds a B.A. in History and an M.T. in Elementary Education from UVA. After graduating, Arianna moved to Richmond, VA where she has since taught third grade for the Richmond Public Schools district at a Title I school. In her first year teaching, she received the Exemplary New Teacher award for her district. Arianna is passionate about creating opportunities for her students and community. In three years, she has fundraised over $20,000 through microgrants on DonorsChoose.org. When she’s not teaching, she’s running after-school enrichment clubs where students learn everything from gardening to publishing to engineering and algebra. This year, she is her school’s Teacher of the Year and will be competing district-wide in the fall.
